The brief was to design and develop a brand identity for family owned restaurant Kindred to be opened in the heart of Auckland's newly developed Wynyard Quarter.

"Kindred is a modern creative dining space serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, with great coffee and cocktails to wash it all down. Collaboration, community and connection are the driving forces behind Kindred’s elegant offerings designed to inspire the senses. Distinctively paired back, generous and inclusive - Kindred is for locals, by locals. Celebrating timeless design and simple, delicious and wholesome food. Kindred is the latest passion project from the Wiley Boys - the family who brought you Sausalito and Miss Clawdy. It is, by name and nature, a family run business. Kindred is a happy place, everyone needs one."

With a clear brand objective and sense of where they wanted to be in the market the brand design looked to carry the key theme of "inspiring the sense's" responding with the use of texture and tactility. A logo and typeface were developed along with colour, material and textural palette. Menus, signage and packaging were also designed.
